Artist's Statement

Most of my pieces are constructed with high-fire stoneware clay body containing five to ten percentage of grog. Usually I hand-build them and/or make hand-built and/or press moulded parts and assemble them when they are at the leather-hard stage.

The content of my work has been gradually changed. Most recently I have used figures, hands and toys as thematic points of deoarture. These forms and images allow for a broad range of interpretations, and can be approached from many different directions.

My works is narrative in nature, and delivers a commentary all its own. It has something to say, make people think and can be interpreted at will.

I want my works to have the strength that lies in its ability to straddle the line between humorous, disturbing, religious, dreamy, vulnerable imagery and the familiar.
